SINGAPORE, 11 April 2025: Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a global leader in shipping has signed a sponsorship agreement with Abarca Sports to provide financial and logistical support to the Movistar Team, one of the most iconic names in professional cycling.
This partnership complements Quantum Pacific Management Ltd’s recent entry into Abarca Sports and reflects EPS’s growing involvement in the world of cycling. As part of the agreement, the EPS logo will now be visible at the world’s most prestigious men’s, women’s and gravel cycling races, on the front of the Movistar Team jersey alongside the existing strong sponsor roster.

EPS, a company grounded in the values of legacy and longevity, sees a strong alignment with Abarca Sports’ proven track record of long-term sponsorships, providing teams with the stability needed to excel at the highest level of professional cycling.
As a pioneer in the shipping industry, EPS champions seafarer well-being and environmental innovation, creating a natural synergy between its corporate ethos and the values inherent in the world of cycling, making this partnership with Movistar a natural extension of its values. EPS’s involvement in cycling spans all levels of the sport, from grassroots development to WorldTour competition.
A recent highlight is EPS’s biannual charity fundraiser, which engaged its 6,000-strong global workforce and the wider maritime community in walking, running, and cycling. In just 20 days, participants logged 574,644 km and raised over US$2 million for Mercy Ships, which operates the world’s largest civilian hospital ships, delivering free medical care and capacity-building programs to some of the most underserved regions around the world.
EPS has also brought cycling into the heart of global shipping events, hosting group rides at key industry gatherings such as Posidonia, shifting traditional late-night social habits towards healthier, more dynamic networking opportunities. This momentum has extended into competitive sports including local and regional cycling races and triathlons such as the Ironman 70.3 and T100. Notably, Team EPS recently secured its third consecutive victory at the Singapore T100, further cementing the company’s growing presence and impact in endurance sports.
EPS united the global shipping community with a group ride during Posidonia 2024,
fostering camaraderie and shared passion for cycling.
EPS is also a longstanding sponsor of the Quantum Racing team, a leading cycling team in the Singapore road racing scene. Recent team achievements include victories in the National Road Race and Team Time Trial Championships.
By extending sponsorship to the Movistar team, EPS continues to expand its cycling footprint, demonstrating deep-rooted passion and long-term commitment to the sport from grassroots development to WorldTour excellence.
