Earlier this year, EPS announced its partnership with Movistar Team, becoming the first Singapore-based company to back a UCI WorldTour cycling team. The collaboration has since extended beyond elite sport — supporting youth development, community rides and grassroots engagement across Singapore.
The EPS–SCF Spanish Training Camp is a continuation of that vision — connecting international expertise with local potential and inspiring the next generation of Singapore cyclists.

About Abarca Sports
The roots of Abarca Sports trace back to 1980, when Reynolds, a Spanish aluminium company, began sponsoring a professional cycling team managed by Eusebio Unzué. The team quickly gained prestige, especially with the emergence of legendary Spanish cyclist Miguel Induráin, who won five consecutive Tour de France titles (1991–1995) while riding for the squad. During the 1990s, the team underwent a major sponsorship change, becoming the Banesto team (1990–2003), a period marked by high visibility and continued success.
In 2011, Abarca Sports, S.L. was officially formed as the sports management company overseeing the team. This coincided with the arrival of Movistar, the telecommunications giant, as title sponsor hence the modern Movistar Team was born. Headquartered in Navarra, Spain, the team has thrived under Movistar sponsorship, achieving significant success including multiple Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España victories, prestigious Classics and Monuments, and Tour de France stage wins. These triumphs have come from a host of high-profile riders, including Alejandro Valverde, Nairo Quintana, Richard Carapaz, and Enric Mas. The team’s consistent performance led to Movistar being ranked the best UCI WorldTour team for four consecutive years (2013–2016).
In 2018, Movistar expanded by launching a Women’s WorldTour team, which quickly rose to the top of the sport. With standout performances from star rider Annemiek van Vleuten, the team captured major titles including 2× Giro Donne, Tour de France Femmes, and 3× La Vuelta Femenina. Today, Abarca Sports is regarded as one of the most respected and influential entities in global cycling, successfully blending decades of tradition with modern sports management and innovation.
