SINGAPORE, 5 May 2025 – Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has announced a strategic collaboration with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) to install the Hi-Cryo LNG HP Pumps and Vaporiser Skids on four LNG-powered Aframax tankers.
The LNG HP Pump, which features an advanced Cam Roller Drive system and dynamic seal technology, offer enhanced operational efficiency and durability. Compared to competitor products, these pumps increase the seal lifetime by 50%, providing substantial economic benefits. The Cam Roller Drive system also allows for independent cold-end operation and a cut-off function during emergencies, ensuring redundancy and continuous operation. These innovations are expected to lower operating costs and improve maintenance efficiency for LNG-powered vessels.
Sachin Saharawat, Technical Director at EPS commented, “This collaboration with HD KSOE strengthens our commitment to adopting alternative fuel solutions and green technologies. HD KSOE is a trusted partner in our ongoing efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
Meanwhile, Youngjun Nam, COO/Senior Executive Vice President at HD KSOE stated, “This project marks the successful launch of our LNG HP Pump business in the growing LNG dual-fuel market. We are dedicated to providing reliable and innovative solutions to ensure the continued success of our clients.”
This partnership is viewed as a key milestone in the shared vision of EPS and HD KSOE to contribute to a more environmentally sustainable shipping industry.
