EPS Cares 2020

Over the past 60 years, Eastern Pacific Shipping has grown to be one of Singapore’s leading tonnage providers. Our growth is attributed to our people, our partners, and the communities where we operate. To show our gratitude, we have launched the EPS Cares Initiative as a way to give back. This corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme supports people and communities through donations, fundraising, and volunteer work.

 

At EPS, we are committed to decarbonisation to preserve the environment for future generations. That’s why we focus our charitable efforts towards causes that support environmental preservation, education, and the wellbeing of children.

EPS Around the World!
To provide these charities with the required funds to operate, we have organised a fundraiser that will see our sea and shore teams attempt to walk, run, or cycle 40,075 kilometres collectively! Why 40,075? This is roughly Earth’s circumference, so together, we want to Walk, Run, or Cycle Around the World for Charity!

Between December 7 -11, 2020, EPS will donate S$6 for every kilometer walked, ran, or cycled by EPS employees until we reach 40,075km. This fundraiser has been approved by the Singapore Tote Board and qualifies for the dollar to dollar matching scheme under the SG Fortitude Budget for up to S$250,000 for the six Singapore-based charities. 

While this is great news, we feel that we can do more as a group. As the old saying goes, together, we can go further. Companies and individuals can help these charities by sponsoring a dollar amount for every kilometre we cover (with a cap on total donation amount) or by making a lump-sum donation.

We welcome everyone to actively get involved! Kilometres will be tracked between December 7 -11, 2020, with Friday, December 11 being our our dedicated day to Move Together! On this day, all EPS employees, corporate sponsors, and individuals across sea and shore are invited to walk, run, or cycle individually or in socially responsible groups.
